I hope you are enjoying the 2024/2025 hockey season. I recognise we have some challenges within the adult section, we have lacked numbers across some of the lower adult teams and I know it has been tricky fielding all ten sides every week, so I appreciate all of the members and committee effort to do this. It is critical that we maintain the teams we have, as we have too many players in the club to operate with any fewer teams without risking losing people. We are running a promotion until Christmas for new members to get cheaper subs and there is also a promo for recommending a new player as well, £25 cash if you recommend someone that signs up for adult hockey, so please chat to people and encourage them to pop down for training to give it a go.

The welfare of our members is at the heart of everything we try to achieve as a club, remembering that the committee are all volunteers so achieving everything we want takes some time. We are looking at how we manage player development and welfare across both adults and juniors, and as such have created a new player feedback form to capture information on members.

The purpose of this form is to track and record how you are feeling and what your goals and aspirations are, also anything that you need us to do that we are not doing already. The idea is that captains/club captains and coaches will complete the form during a 1:1 chat either at training or on match days, giving everyone an opportunity to voice their thoughts. The information will be reviewed by the committee and coaching team so we can implement positive changes where we can.

You do not have to wait for a conversation to complete the form however, as it will take some time for these to be completed for everyone. We will be prioritising junior players in adult teams, anyone moving between teams or new to the club.
